PEACE SEEKING MIGRANTS. 1966 5¢ 50 year commemorative US and Canada Migratory Bird Treaty. 'PEACE' slogan cancel.
Free, fly free, there are no borders in the sky. Those that build a wall so high around themselves that they can no longer see out, live in a prison. Walls do not divide us, just the blocks in your mind.
Migratory birds fly over these walls, caring not what treaty may or may not be. They follow their need with the will to survive and be free. Migratory birds we all be, caught up in the diaspora like waves in the sea. One generation after another, going farther than before, the world keeps on turning, over populated evermore. We migrate with the seasons and changes of fate, for people on this planet, war has been no stranger of late. From battle throes they flee from rockets and shocks, human flocks herded and turned away, treated like livestock.
But 'We' are not trees planted in one spot, and will always move to make lives in places that sometimes, the treaties say 'We' may not. Where will 'We' go when this Earth is all owned, expelled from our land, our home, the place where the buffalo once roamed form sea to shining sea. That was when it was last truly free.
