Process in Progress. Monterey Museum of Art

The Monterey Museum of Art has invited multi-media artist Hector Dionicio Mendoza to hold a one-month artist-in-residency and mixed-media art project. I'm excited to have been invited to collaborate with him on a unique piece for this exhibit. The piece we created is titled Beautiful Devastation, and captures the cycle of wind, water and fire across the California landscape.

December 28, 2017 – February 4, 2018. Opening Reception, Friday 5th January 2018
Monterey Museum of Art, Pacific Street, Monterey CA 93940

The exhibition explores diverse approaches to nonobjective art from three varied perspectives. From the contemplative canvases of Paul Seftel to the enigmatic spatial forms of Rebecca Koury and the forceful brushwork of Linda Simmel. The variety of materials and techniques included in this presentation testifies to nonobjective painting’s enduring potential as a form of artistic expression.
